2007 - Darla Lacey
Mrs. Virginia America

About Darla

Darla Lacey Cline was crowned Mrs. Virginia 2007 after being named second runner up in 2004 and first runner up in both 2005 and 2006. In 2008, she joined the staff as the emcee and choreographer. She became the executive director of the pageant in 2015. Her first queen, Nikki Goss, was top 6 at nationals and she's proud to have national winner in fitness, photogenic, and many top 15 placers. Her goal was to create a pageant that was more of a sisterhood than a competition and one that was a journey to potentially guide each woman to be the best version of herself while serving the community.  Ultimately, she wanted her pageant to be a positive experience for all contestants.

Darla has her BS in English from Liberty University, a two Master's from Old Dominion University in education and library science.  She currently works as a media specialist for Chesapeake Public Schools, her employer for the past 25 years.

Darla has two sons: Blaine, a systems engineer, and Logan, a JMU Honors College student.
