About Kera Franklin

Kera Franklin is the oldest of three and a native Floridian who grew up on the Space Coast. She attended Florida State University where she graduated in 2.5 years with her degree in accounting and a minor in finance.

Kera moved to Northern Virginia with her husband and college sweetheart where she focused on growing her career for nine years. In 2013, with their growing family, Kera and Brian moved to their current home in Virginia Beach to focus on their family. Together, Brian and Kera have two children, Pierce and Brooke, and an Australian Shephard, Sydney.

Kera currently works as an Assistant Controller for a private university that prides itself on serving those who have served us -- the military. Kera is an advocate for mental health and is focused on supporting communities through acts of service and kindness. She is helping to break the stigma and bring mental health to the forefront of the conversation. As a mom, wife and career woman, she knows the pressures life can bring. Kera wants to let others know that talking about our struggles means we don’t have to suffer alone, and instead can learn and thrive together.

Kera will blend her work with Mrs. American’s national platform, Victoria’s Voice, to show the direct correlation between mental health and substance abuse.
